Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy explains activities that are not allowed on KODEEFY and how KODEEFY may respond when these rules are broken.

Last updated: Legal review pending

KODEEFY is a multi-store commerce platform. Merchants, staff, and other authorized users must use the Services in a lawful, responsible way that does not harm customers, other merchants, providers, or the platform.

This page is a platform draft and should be reviewed by qualified legal counsel before production publication.

1. Purpose and scope

This Acceptable Use Policy (“Policy”) applies to use of KODEEFY websites, admin tools, storefronts, POS features, APIs, integrations, support channels, and related services. It works together with the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

2. Merchant responsibility

Merchants are responsible for the products, content, marketing, and customer practices of their stores, including activity by staff or contractors using merchant accounts. Providing the platform does not make KODEEFY the seller of merchant products.

3. Illegal goods and services

You may not use KODEEFY to offer, promote, or facilitate illegal goods or services, including but not limited to:

  • Goods or services prohibited by applicable law in the markets you serve
  • Stolen property or unlawfully obtained items
  • Unlicensed controlled substances where prohibited
  • Weapons, explosives, or other items sold in violation of applicable law

4. Restricted and regulated products

Some products are restricted or heavily regulated even when not always illegal. Merchants must obtain required licenses, age checks, disclosures, and compliance controls before offering regulated products. KODEEFY may limit or refuse categories that create elevated legal, safety, or provider risk.

5. Fraud and deceptive conduct

Prohibited conduct includes:

  • Fraudulent orders, chargeback abuse, or identity misuse
  • False store identity, fake reviews, or fabricated credentials
  • Schemes designed to mislead customers, banks, or payment providers

6. Counterfeit goods and intellectual property violations

You may not sell counterfeit goods or use content that infringes copyrights, trademarks, design rights, or other intellectual-property rights. Merchants must have the rights needed for product images, branding, and copy they upload.

7. Harmful, abusive, or exploitative content

You may not use KODEEFY to publish or distribute content that is abusive, harassing, exploitative, or otherwise unlawful. Content that promotes violence, hate, or exploitation of vulnerable people is not allowed.

8. Malware, phishing, spam, and security abuse

  • Distributing malware, ransomware, or malicious scripts
  • Phishing pages or credential-harvesting schemes
  • Unsolicited spam campaigns through platform tools or customer data
  • Attempts to bypass security controls or exploit vulnerabilities

9. Unauthorized access and platform interference

You may not access accounts, data, or systems without authorization, interfere with platform operations, or attempt to disrupt KODEEFY infrastructure, merchant stores, or customer experiences.

10. API, scraping, automation, and resource abuse

APIs and automation must stay within documented limits and permissions. Unauthorized scraping, credential stuffing, excessive load, or automation that degrades service quality or circumvents rate limits is prohibited.

11. Misleading customer practices

Merchants must not misrepresent products, prices, shipping times, stock availability, business identity, or refund practices in ways that deceive customers.

12. Payment and billing abuse

Circumventing plan limits, abusing free early-access features, creating sham accounts to avoid fees, or manipulating billing workflows is prohibited. Payment-provider abuse may also violate provider rules.

13. Privacy and customer-data misuse

Customer and staff data must be used lawfully. Unauthorized sale, scraping, harassment, spam, or profiling that violates applicable privacy law or platform policies is not allowed. See the Privacy Policy for additional responsibilities.

14. Enforcement and investigation

KODEEFY may investigate suspected violations, request information, require remediation, or involve providers and authorities where reasonably necessary. Investigation scope depends on risk, evidence, and legal obligations.

15. Suspension and termination

KODEEFY may suspend or terminate access, remove content, restrict features, or close stores where reasonably necessary to address violations, fraud, illegal activity, or security risk. Where reasonably practical, notice may be provided, but emergency cases may require immediate action.

16. Reporting violations

Suspected Acceptable Use violations may be reported through support channels. Reports should include enough detail for review. KODEEFY may not share investigation outcomes in every case due to privacy, security, or legal limits.

17. Changes to the policy

KODEEFY may update this Policy as products, risks, and laws evolve. The “Last updated” line reflects the current public status. Material changes may be communicated by website notice, dashboard notice, or email where reasonably practical.
